Then finally in the year 1904, the name was changed to Table Tennis Association. Since then, the name has not altered.
The rights of the name Ping Pong was given to the Parker brothers. And at that time, there were many tournaments going on with the name ‘Ping Pong.’ Parker Brothers claimed that strict proper action would be taken against those who use this name, without mentioning the real purpose of that.
Still, the name of Ping Pong is used in the USA, and this is because of the popularity of the name, though. And this name is still a registered name, and the Escalade Sports owns it.
What is the Present Status?
Currently, people use the names of Ping Pong and Table Tennis in different scenarios. Ping Pong is more often used by the people who are the recreational players, and Table Tennis is said for those who are playing in in a professional manner.
Now comparing the players, we have found that the recreational players do not mind much, whether the game is called Ping Pong or Table Tennis. Whereas some of the professional players get offended when people call the game by the name Ping Pong.
